English 1010 James Maxfield, Instructor Portfolio Extra Credit: Build your own Glossary and make your own handy reference list of definitions and examples of the following terms used to write Essays, Papers, and Reports. Your Personal Glossary definitions must be comprehensive in the sense that you must consider both Denotative (literal meanings) and Connotative (the implied or suggested) meanings of a word. Some definitions may require a paragraph to explain fully—use more than one source: Use the glossaries in your writing textbook and your short story anthology as well as a dictionary, your Handbook, and other internet sources). Do not just copy definitions from another source. Paraphrase them in your own way so you fully understand their meanings and application. This list is not comprehensive; you may add more terms as you feel appropriate. Earns up to 10% Extra Credit on your final Portfolio grade. To Summarize:
