Exercise # 14

Choose 5 sentences from your Descriptive Essay rough draft and amplify or embellish them by using the technique learned in class from Erasmus. (See sample illustration under Sentence Amplification.) You must use your thesis sentence and your concluding sentence. Then choose 3 sentences from the body of your descriptive essay. The most logical choices are your main ideas or lead sentences from each paragraph. List your original sentence, then show your lists of options, then show your final sentence.

Model your responses after the sample in-class exercise and handout that we completed with the sentence: "Your letter has delighted me very much."
