Exercise # 4: Maintaining Coherence & Identifying Elements of Transition Using the Carson essay "The Marginal World" or another assigned essay and mark, highlight, or in some fashion identify words, phrases, or other indicators of transition or connectivity between the sentences or paragraphs in the essay. Consult Ch. 3 in Strategy and Structure book. (See pp. 34-35). Does the author use any different transitions not found in your book? If so, list them. |
