Schedule and Project Descriptions
Listed below is a
tentative schedule of topics and reading assignments by week. Follow the project links for more detailed
descriptions of project objectives, materials and grading criteria.
See the Important dates table on the syllabus for a listing of withdrawal, vacation, final exam and portfolio due dates. Check it often to keep yourself on track.
Lesson Sequence The sequence of the lessons listed below
build on each another. Lessons are designed from simple to complex. They
begin with drawing individual objects with just line, then adding volume
by adding values and finally drawing those objects within space in a still
life setup. Once you have some level of mastery of drawing simple shapes
you are then asked to use your imagination and combine ideas or concepts
and visual forms to create illustrations.
