The Pole Bean

I'm not kidding. I have observed many times that when the pole bean climbs on a string, it winds around the string counterclockwise as viewed from above. Let me know if you find a variety that goes the other way. Is there any biological or other-logical reason for it to go counterclockwise? Now if you don't go back, the giant from the beanstalk will get ya.
